“Pokémon Go” is Back at Beauvoir

While Friday nights are all about football for most people in South Mississippi, it was a different story for hundreds at Beauvoir this evening.
Beauvoir held a second “Pokémon Go” event after the unexpected success of their first event a couple of weeks ago.
The event lasted from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. and tickets were $4 at the gate. A portion of the proceeds from tonight go toward “Making Strides against Breast Cancer.” Ashley Kerr and her family are a group of “Pokémon” goers. She said, “It’s a great free event to get out with the kids. Let them run around. Get off some extra energy. It’s a good incentive also for chores and homework on a Friday. They really love it.”
Food and drinks were available for purchase courtesy of AMVETS and Bayou View Middle School. Beauvoir officials say the event attracted over 1,000 people.
