Pirates parade through the Bay for Lundi Gras

Families, friends, and pirates joined Mystic Krewe of the Seahorse at their annual Lundi Gras parade in Bay St. Louis.

For eight years, decorated golf carts and walking groups roll through the bay, passing out Mardi Gras and pirate themed beads, moon pies, and stuffed animals.

The Mystic Krewe of the Seahorse honors those courageous sailors who fought for this country’s independence in 1814.

The pirate themed parade reminds the community of its history while having a little fun. Captain Jack Jacob Johnson said, “Small, but growing parade, full of people in golf carts and our fantastic seahorse float. It is definitely a parade for first timers if they haven’t gone to one before. Nothing too crazy, but just enough excitement to get anyone into the season of Mardi Gras.”

This year over 70 golf carts paraded through the city.
