Picayune football’s Darrell Smith offered by Boston College

Less than a week after being thrown into duty at quarterback, Picayune’s Darrell Smith is the recipient of his first Division I offer from Boston College.

The sophomore standout actually led the Maroon Tide in rushing in his team’s week seven win over East Central, going for 157 and two touchdowns on just nine carries.

Smith does it all for the Tide, averaging more than 11 yards per carry as the team’s third leading rusher.

He’s also the leading receiver, albeit for a team that doesn’t throw very much, but still more than 400 total yards plus five total touchdowns. He even has five tackles on defense.

This marks the third straight day that a Picayune player has gotten a Division I offer.
