Philip Spear Hearing Rescheduled for Friday

The preliminary hearing for a man accused of producing and distributing child pornography out of his home in Ocean Springs has been moved to Friday.
Today 59-year-old Philip Spear was set to appear in front of Magistrate Judge Robert H. Walker at the federal courthouse in Gulfport. After he showed up without a lawyer present, Judge Walker ordered Spear be allowed free telephone time to contact a lawyer for the hearing rescheduled to Friday.
According to public records, an investigation beginning in May led investigators to Spear’s home in Ocean Springs last Thursday where he was arrested under suspicion of owning and participating in child pornography.
