Peterson to Form Transition Team

Harrison County Sheriff-Elect Troy Peterson is already making moves to get the transition started.
At this morning’s meeting, Peterson asked the Board of Supervisors to help fund one member of his transition team. The team will all be volunteers except one, an accountant who will do the auditing.
Peterson, who edged out incumbent Melvin Brisolara, tells News 25 he already knows what he wants to improve first. “The biggest thing we’re looking at is the enforcement side. I’m eager to get in there and make sure the public that voted me in knows what we’re there for. We’re not talking about writing traffic tickets. We’re talking about enforcing the law to reduce crime in the areas, reduce our theft rates, reduce our burglary rates. That’s what we want to focus on.”
Peterson will officially take over as Harrison County sheriff on January 4th.
