Pedestrian struck and killed by train in Bay St. Louis

On June 13, 2019, The Bay St. Louis Police Department responded to a call that a pedestrian had been struck by a CSX train near the intersection of Central Avenue and Webb Street.

The pedestrian was killed as a result of the train strike. Investigators with the Bay St. Louis Police Department and Hancock County Coroner Jim Faulk responded to the scene.

Preliminary investigation by the detectives and the coroner indicate that all safety lights and whistles on the train were working and activated at the time of impact. Preliminary investigation indicates that the death is a result of suicide.

The name of the individual is not being released at this time and attempts to locate next of kin are being made.
