Pedestrian killed on MS 63 South

An update on the crash which claimed the life of one man on Highway 63 near Ole Saraceinna Road in Jackson County.
Around 12:30 a.m. last night, a 59-year-old man from Lucedale was traveling south in a 2005 Ford Taurus. Twenty-eight year-old James Cunningham of Moss Point was walking in the right lane of Highway 63 and was hit by the southbound vehicle. The pedestrian was pronounced dead on scene from injuries sustained in the crash. The driver was not injured.
The incident is still under investigation.
