Pedestrian dies after early-morning accident on Highway 90

A pedestrian died Friday morning in a vehicle vs. pedestrian accident on Highway 90

BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. (WXXV)–A pedestrian was killed Friday morning after being hit by a vehicle on Highway 90 in Bay St. Louis, according to police.

Bay St. Louis officers responded to Highway 90 near Dunbar Avenue at approximately 7:23 a.m. to reports of a collision.

Officers found Walter Trauth of Bay St. Louis lying in the roadway with injuries from the collision.

Trauth was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say a light-colored 2010 Honda Accord was traveling eastbound on Highway 90 near Dunbar Avenue when Trauth entered the road.

Investigators said the driver was unable to avoid the collision, and that the collision was accidental.

 No criminal charges will be filed as a result.
