Patriot Golf Day rescheduled

Today was supposed to be the day of the inaugural Patriot Golf Day at Grand Bear Golf Club in Saucier.

Turns out today there was only an empty course because organizers decided to postpone the tournament until Tuesday, November 19th.

They made this decision since the cold and windy conditions outside are not ideal for a good golf day.

This tournament is benefiting ‘Folds of Honor’ which provides educational scholarships to the children and spouses of our fallen and disabled service members.

The tournament format is a four person scramble and their entry fee includes golf, tee gift, and a donation to ‘Folds of Honor.’ Grand Bear Golf Club Manager Brad Kale said, “We want a nice day for everyone so we can have some fun and next Tuesday looks like it is going to work out a lot better for us. It’s something that we are real excited about. We are looking forward to having it. We had about 100 people signed up originally so hopefully we will get them back out here next Tuesday.”

They are also pushing back their sign up date to Friday so you can still sign up if you’d like. Shotgun will be at 9 a.m.
