Patio 44 coming to downtown Gulfport

A lot that’s been vacant in Gulfport since Katrina will soon be transformed into Patio 44’s newest location.
The Hattiesburg based company opened their first Coast location in Biloxi in November 2016. Now, their newest spot will sit at the corner of 24th Avenue and 13th Street, overlooking Jones Harbor and right next door to the aquarium currently under construction.
This is a spot that city officials say is perfect for continuing the growth of Gulfport’s economy and tourism. City of Gulfport Economic Development Director David Parker said, “Tourism is the largest driver of our economy and so to have more dining options and more retail options for all of the tourists that come to Gulfport and the ones that will be coming to Gulfport is extremely important for our vitality.”
Construction on the new Patio 44 will begin at the end of the month and it is expected to open in September.
