Pass Christian prepares for Mardi Gras
The annual St. Paul Mardi Gras Parade in Pass Christian is set for Sunday as locals are gearing up for a very festive weekend.
According to the Pass Christian Police Department, preparation for the event has been in the works for quite a while. Barricades are up and public service announcements were sent out regarding certain parade rules and regulations. Roads will be closed at approximately 10 a.m. Sunday.
The police department wants everyone to come out and have a great time, just be aware of your surroundings if you plan to enjoy the festivities. Pass Christian Assistant Police Chief Darren Freeman said, “We’ve asked and received several agencies coming in to help us and assist with manpower issues. It’s a good time for everyone. The community comes out in full force along with the law enforcement officers working with everyone. It’s a good time for everyone.”
There’s a chance the parade could be moved up to an earlier time with the possibility of bad weather.
