Pascagoula police officer fired after being charged with child abuse in Mobile County

PASCAGOULA, Miss. (WXXV)-A Pascagoula police officer has been fired after being arrested in Mobile County on child abuse charges.

Officials with the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office have confirmed that Thomas Horn is the officer in question and was booked on the charge Friday morning.

The alleged abuse happened in Grand Bay, Alabama earlier this month.

Pascagoula Police Chief Terry Scott says they were made aware of the investigation into Horn on Monday, at which point he was placed on administrative leave.

Once Horn’s arrest was made public Friday, Chief Scott says his employment with Pascagoula PD was terminated.
