Pascagoula Police Investigating Stabbing

One man is recovering after a stabbing in Jackson County last night. Police officers rushed to the northwest part of Pascagoula.
Pascagoula police tell News 25 an altercation between two men led to the stabbing. The incident happened on Agnes Street, just after 7 p.m. on Monday.
Authorities say 56-year-old James Johnson stabbed a 26-year-old man in the abdomen and the man was taken to the hospital to undergo emergency surgery.
Lieutenant Doug Adams with the Pascagoula Police Department says they are still collecting details from the victim. “These two gentlemen were well acquainted with each other. They had words. What caused them to have words, we’re not really sure yet. We only had one side of the story, talking to Mr. Johnson. They evidently separated. For whatever reason they got back together and the altercation ensued.”
After the police are finished investigating the incident, the case will be presented to a grand jury to determine the charges.
