Pascagoula police investigating shooting at motel

Pascagoula Police are investigating a shooting that occurred at a motel on Tuesday morning.

Police Chief Matt Chapman said in a press release that officers responded to a call about shots fired at the Payless Motel about 11:40 a.m.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found one person injured from a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to Singing River Hospital for treatment.

Witness statements were taken and one person was taken into custody for questioning.

No charges have been filed and more details will be released as they become available.
