Pascagoula, Moss Point rivalry breakfast

They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day and that’s especially true on game day. This morning, Pascagoula and Moss Point took that saying to heart leading up to their season opener.
The two communities shared fellowship over football at the annual rivalry breakfast with the Battle of the Cats looming large. Both head coaches describe the game as the premier rivalry in Jackson County, but as far as smack talk goes, cats got their tongue.
The ties to this family affair run deep and transcend the game of football. Pascagoula Head Football Coach Lewis Sims said, “I’m from Moss Point, graduated from Moss Point, coached at Moss Point, now I’m at Pascagoula. Some of my best friends are in Moss Point, got some really good, close friends in Pascagoula now. And last year they got the better side of it, and this year our goal is to pursue a different result.”
Moss Point Head Football Coach Wesley Harmon said, “Looking forward to a great game, great rivalry game. A lot of the players know each other, coaching staffs know each other. So it’s a great game but it’s also a family game because it’s a family atmosphere with everybody knowing each other, the communities know each other. So it’s a great game for everybody that’s involved.”
The game will be played in Moss Point.
