Pascagoula Hopes to Spur Downtown Development

The City of Pascagoula is looking to finish revitalizing their downtown area. They are asking business-minded residents to help.
Tomorrow the city will host a downtown walking tour of vacant commercial property. They are inviting anyone that may be interested in owning a downtown business to meet them at the corner of Delmas Avenue and Canty Street at 2 on Saturday. In an open house style tour, you’ll be able to check out the several vacant properties.
Community and economic development representatives, along with Main Street representatives, will be on hand to answer any questions on how you can help finish fully developing downtown Pascagoula. City of Pascagoula Public Relations specialist Anne Pitre said, “Our downtown area is really the most iconic neighborhood of Pascagoula or one of them definitely. We’ve had a lot of downtown development in the last 10 years, but we’re still working on filling some of those vacancies. When you create that critical mass activity it creates more people and more commerce and creates even more engagement.”
Tomorrow’s tour will last from 2 until 5.
