Pascagoula Fire Department distributing masks to the public
Wearing a face mask can help slow the spread of COVID-19, but finding one hasn’t been easy during the pandemic.
This coming Monday, June 1st, the Pascagoula Fire Department will be donating masks at the Pascagoula Senior Center.
The fire department has received 12,000 KN-95 masks to distribute to the public.
The distribution at the senior center will be a drive-thru style and people coming to receive the masks must stay in their cars.
No walk-ups are allowed and there will be a five mask limit per car. Katarina Luketich with the City of Pascagoula said, “The fire department was given these masks by the County EOC to make sure the public will have them if they choose. It is recommended by the CDC that people wear masks. So, we want to make sure that people who need and want them do have them.”
The mask distribution will take place Monday from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. If not all of the masks are handed out Monday, there will be a second distribution day at the senior center on Tuesday.
