Pascagoula Cemetery Tour
Every year on the Thursday before Halloween, figures from Pascagoula’s past come back to life to tell tales from their time.
This is all part of the city’s annual haunted cemetery tour. The tour normally takes place at Krebs Cemetery, but due to construction and maintenance at the usual site, this year you could find the ghostly good time going on at the Greenwood Cemetery. The tour had seven stops and numerous actors to fill the roles of spirits from beyond.
Liz Ford with the Pascagoula Historic Preservation Commission says hundreds attended this year’s event to learn about the rich history of Pascagoula. “They have located characters here at the cemetery that contributed to the growth of Pascagoula. You would call them maybe founding fathers, but they came along a little bit later. I believe the earliest was born in 1817.”
Ford tells News 25 that the event will return to Krebs Cemetery next year.
