Pascagoula budget job cuts
Due to a $14 million short in the city’s budget, workers in Pascagoula have been laid off from their jobs.
According to Pascagoula Community Relations Director Lauri-Ellen Smith, 11 city workers from maintenance jobs and beautifications department were let go.
Three non-essential employees from the Pascagoula Police Department also lost their jobs. Seven positions inside the police department will remain vacant for a year.
A meeting will take place Thursday that’s open to the public regarding the budget.
