Parents Arrested in Deadly Greenville House Fire
The parents of the children who were killed in the house fire in Greenville, Mississippi have been charged with their deaths.
Today the father, 24-year-old Dewane Turner, turned himself into Greenville police. The mother, 33-year-old Jennifer York, was taken into custody Wednesday. Each is charged with two counts of manslaughter and culpable negligence.
Two girls, one and three years old, died in the fire. Four other children managed to get out of the house in time. Authorities say no adults were home at the time.
It appears no gas or power was on and candles had been placed throughout the house. The fire chief said it appears the candles are to blame, but they’re still investigating the cause.
