Palace Casino putting plans into place for reopening

More casinos across the Coast are sharing their plans ahead of Thursday’s reopening.

Over at the Palace Casino Resort in Biloxi, they’ve taken the time to completely rearrange the casino floor for greater social distancing measures.

On the gaming floor, slot machines have been rearranged to allow for optimal social distancing and the gaming floor will be closed from 3 a.m. to 8 a.m. every day to disinfect surfaces.

The hotel, Palace Buffet, and Palace Café and Bakery will open up again with strict sanitation methods as well for the safety of guests.

Employees are making their way back to work for orientation on these new guidelines. Palace Casino Resort General Manager Keith Crosby said, “We’re anxious to get back to work. The encouraging part of this is, and a lot needs to be said about how well our industry has worked with the Gaming Commission, the regulatory people, and the governor’s office to make this happen. It’s been a daily coordination effort. There’s been enormous coordination and communication and let me tell you, it’s something Mississippi should be proud of.”

Amenities that will not reopen on Thursday at the Palace include the Pure Spa and Fitness Center, valet parking, and food delivery to hotel rooms. The Palace Race Book will reopen, but the sports book will remain closed for the time being.
