OSHS Student Receives Stamps Scholarship

A student at Ocean Springs High School is one of 14 students in the nation offered to benefit from one of the top scholarship programs in the nation.
Now she’s ready to take on life as a rebel, an Ole Miss Rebel that is. Today, representatives from the University of Mississippi were on hand to present Sally Boswell with the Penelope W. and E. Roe Stamps Leadership Scholarship. It is the premier merit based scholarship for the university. It recognizes academically talented students that are extremely involved in their school and community and show a desire to change the world in the future.
“When they first told me I got the scholarship, I guess I was surprised, actually very surprised but I was so excited because I’ve always wanted to go to Ole Miss and just to get their largest scholarship is just an honor. There’s so many opportunities that are wrapped up with the scholarship, so definitely just shock and so much excitement,” said Boswell.
The scholarship covers the full cost of attendance, along with a $12,000 stipend for unique educational pursuits. Boswell plans to double major in mathematics and international studies.
