Original Red Power Ranger signing at 3 Alarm Comics
Austin St. John, who played the original Red Power Ranger, paid a visit to News 25 this afternoon to talk about an exciting signing event he’s doing at 3 Alarm Comics Saturday.
St. John began his acting career at the age of 17 in 1993 when he was cast as Jason Lee Scott in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
In the years since the hit series premiered, St. John has gotten his G.E.D., along with two college degrees, worked as a firefighter-paramedic and with the U.S. military as a healthcare provider in the Middle East.
The former Red Ranger turned husband and father of two has started back acting and is looking forward to connecting with fans at the 3 Alarm Comics signing. “To see the fans now that you have all grown up. It’s like oh you got bigger. You’re not hiding behind mom’s leg anymore. It’s a pretty incredible thing too because there’s so many stories. It doesn’t matter what language, what culture, whether I’m in India or Jakarta or Indonesia or Canada or the U.S. or Scotland. The stories are incredible and its stories where we bring families together. There’s no end to the scope and breadth of what you guys as fans saw. Whether it was my character or another character. It was somebody who looked like you or somebody you wanted to be, or a father figure or mother figure or brother figure and its mind blowing. There has never been another show like us.”
St. John will be at 3 Alarm Comics Saturday from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m.
