Orange Grove Mardi Gras Parade

Mardi Gras festivities kick off this weekend in Gulfport for the 26th annual Orange Grove Mardi Gras parade.
The Orange Grove Carnival Association hosts the first parade of Mardi Gras season, “OGCA Gets Groovy”, this Saturday. All floats will line up at the Goldin Sports Complex on Prudie Circle and the parade kicks off at 2 p.m. OGCA officials call this parade a fun, family oriented, trouble free parade for the whole community.
WXXV will have two cars in the parade with reporters and Meteorologist Ryan Mahan on board.
Vice President of Orange Grove Carnival Association Ryan Goldin said, “We’re kicking off carnival season, which is a first for the Orange Grove Carnival Association. We’re not only excited about it, we feel like it’s an honor because we get to set the tone for carnival season.”
If you are interested in registering a float in Saturday’s parade, contact the Orange Grove Carnival Association at 228-860-7576. Awards for best family and business floats can win cash prizes, ranging from $50 to $100.
