Orange Grove Carnival Association Canceling Parade
The Orange Grove Carnival Association Parade will not roll through Gulfport this year.
The association disbanded after last year’s parade according to the Sun Herald. The krewe was formed in 1990 and the first parade rolled in February in 1991 with a theme of Mardi Gras. Recording breaking crowds watched 80 units, bands, floats, and horses.
The krewe paraded every year since its formation including 2006 after Hurricane Katrina, although no ball was held that year.
Last year’s parade rolled with 14 floats, several cars, trucks, and dancing groups.
