Opioid And Heroin Task Force Executive Order

Governor Phil Bryant is issuing a task force to help combat drug abuse in Mississippi. The Opioid and Heroin Study Task Force will make recommendations to the governor of how to best fight drug abuse and prevent it in the future. The executive order states that Mississippi is one of the leading prescribers of opiates and all of Mississippi is at a great risk for substance abuse. Governor Bryant will now appoint different members and a chair to the task force. Here in South Mississippi, Harrison and Pearl River counties follow just behind Desoto County, leading the state of Mississippi for heroin overdoses.
