One New West Nile Case, Two New Zika Cases

The Mississippi State Department of Health reports one new human case of West Nile Virus, bringing the 2016 state total to 22. The reported case is in Rankin County.
So far this year, human cases of West Nile Virus have been reported in Calhoun, Chickasaw, Copiah, Hinds, Grenada, Lamar, Lee, Leflore, Lincoln, Lowndes, Marion, Perry and Rankin counties. There has been one West Nile Virus death reported in a Hinds County resident.
Additionally, today the Department of Health reports two new travel-associated cases of Zika, bringing the 2016 total to 23 in Mississippi. The reported cases were in residents in Prentiss County who recently traveled to the island of Grenada in the West Indies.
