One dead, one in custody after shooting in Gulfport

The suspect wanted in a homicide in Gulfport this morning is now in custody.
Police say 44-year-old Marcos Hosey was arrested without incident around noon today. Police towed his car from an apartment complex on Loposser Avenue.
Hosey is accused of fatally shooting Arthur Etheridge at the O’Neal Road Apartments. Police say the shooting happened around 1 a.m. Etheridge was transported to Garden Park by private vehicle where he was pronounced dead. Hosey is charged with first degree murder.
Gulfport Police Sgt. Joshua Bromen said, “A couple other individuals who were with him were taken briefly down to the station. We questioned them about what was going on and those individuals were later released. At this point in time we’re trying to establish why these two individuals were at that location. It doesn’t appear either one of them lived there, but again, that’s part of the investigation.”
If you have any information on this crime you are asked to call the Gulfport Police Department at 228-868-5959.
