One Book One Pass

It’s National Library Week and in Pass Christian they started a new tradition in the city.

At 7 p.m. they announced “One Book, One Pass” the new program encouraging residents in the city to read the same exact book and all join together to discuss it. To kick off the night, the mayor joined the Pass Christian head librarian to reveal the book and author for the first “One Book, One Pass” program.

Dr. James Patterson Smith, the co-author of “Beaches, Blood and Ballots” followed by speaking of his time during the Civil Rights Movement on the Coast.

Pass Christian Head Librarian Wendy Allard said, “’One Book, One Pass’ which is a new program that will encourage everyone in Pass Christian, from high school to adults, to read the same book and then we’re going to get together to talk about the book and the author will be coming on Wednesday, October 5th to do a presentation.”

The book the city will be challenged to read is “Dead Wake” by Erik Larson. Larson is an author from Washington.
