Ole Miss football dealing with COVID-19 issues

Ole Miss is dealing with COVID-19 issues of its own following Saturday’s loss against Alabama.

Head Coach Lane Kiffin says as of now, the Rebels could play Saturday at Arkansas, but that’s still pending another round of testing prior to kickoff.

The SEC requires that a team has a minimum of 53 scholarship players available before a game can be canceled, postponed, or forfeited.

Kiffin says things just got real for his program. “For the first time we are having issues with that. We have a number of guys out. I’m not going to get into numbers. So we have not had that in-season. We had that during camp. But this is the first time dealing with it in season. It’s very difficult moving people around and we’re beat up, too, from a very high play count, intense game versus a great team Saturday. So we are not in a great situation number wise at all.”

As it stands now, the Rebels and Razorbacks are slated to kick things off from Fayetteville at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
