Ole Miss Chancellor visits St. Patrick High School
Higher education is important for the future of Mississippi.
That’s what Jeffrey Vitter, the chancellor of the University of Mississippi, says was his main message to students during his visit to the Coast today. The chancellor spoke to juniors and seniors at St. Patrick High School in Biloxi about the importance of pursuing a college career.
Vitter highlighted Ole Miss’ high G.P.A., diversity, and variety of programs. “I grew up on the Gulf Coast and this region is very passionate. I’m very passionate about this region and making a difference in Mississippi is something we’re all about. Our mission at Ole Miss is to transform lives, communities, and the world, and the way to do that is through higher education.”
The Ole Miss chancellor also visited Ocean Springs, Gulfport High School, and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College while on the Coast.
