Ole Miss baseball wins game despite trailing LA Tech 5-4 before game called

When you score more runs than the other team, you win, that’s just how baseball works. Except that’s not how it worked yesterday in a mid-week game between Ole Miss and Louisiana Tech. The latter is not too happy about it.

Head Coach Lane Burroughs going on record saying his program won’t be scheduling the Rebels again after losing a game his team was actually winning.

By rule, a game called due to weather resorts back to the score at the conclusion of the last full inning played, which the Rebs were leading 4-3 after six.

LA Tech would plate the game-tying and go-ahead runs in the top of the seventh to make it 5-4, but as it turns out, an Ethan Groff solo shot would serve as the game-winning run.

The main controversy is Ole Miss refusing to reschedule and the Bulldogs want to.
