Old Cars, fresh faces! Cruisin’ Krewe has a new group of volunteers

Cruisin’ the Coast is all about antique and vintage vehicles, but this year you’re sure to see quite a few new faces to greet you.

Known as the Cruisin’ Krewe, some new recruits are helping out and serving as volunteers with Cruisin’ the Coast activities across South Mississippi. This marks the second year for the Cruisin’ Krewe.

Cruisin’ organizers say they’ve rounded up more Cruisin’ Krewe volunteers this year than last year because word has gotten out. Cruisin’ the Coast Organizer Terry Ward said, “A lot of our normal car club volunteers are getting older, including myself. Unfortunately, we have lost some due to age. It still takes about 800 people in volunteers to run this Cruisin’ the Coast. We’ve gone out into the local community and come up with a program called Cruisin’ Krewe, so that means you don’t have to be in a car club to volunteer to help out.”

You’ll see both Cruisin’ Krewe volunteers and long-time familiar faces at Cruisin’ venues across the Coast until the event wraps on Sunday.
