Ohr O’Keefe Museum Offers Free Admission for Labor Day

It was a busy day at the Ohr O’Keefe Museum this Labor Day. The museum offered free entrance Monday and activities for all ages. All galleries were open as well.

Currently, the museum is showing a June Ward, Michael Marney, George Ohr, and ceramic exhibit. There were also demonstrations and book readings at the welcome center, but the one activity that drew a crowd: pinch pots.

Carol Messer, the Assistant Director of the Ohr O’Keefe Museum, says, “Pinch pots are you get a little ball of clay and you take your fingers and you pinch around and you make a pot or whatever creation you’d like, and that gets glazed and then fired, and then you pick it up in about two weeks.”

The museum also offers free admission on Memorial Day and Martin Luther King Day.
