Ocean Springs Upper Elementary Students Rehearse for Foreigner Concert

Foreigner wants to know what love is and Ocean Springs Upper Elementary choir plans on showing them.
The school’s 25 talented singers practiced today for their performance with the iconic rock group as well as their pep rally. Time is quickly ticking as the show kicks off on Saturday at the Hard Rock Casino.
Eric Funches was their choir teacher when the announcement was made that they had won the contest. On that same day, Funches announced his retirement due to health issues, but he says he hopes the lessons he taught the kids will stick with them in the future. “Life may present you with some very challenging issues and some unfair situations but you have to push through anyways. Even though I had to leave this position, I still come and I still help because I love the children. I hope that also sends to them the message that even when things don’t work out the way you want to, you can make the best out of your situation.”
The choir members and Foreigner hit the stage together this Saturday at 8 p.m.
