Ocean Springs Seafood and Music Festival

Sweet tunes and savory smells were in the air at the Ocean Springs Seafood and Music Festival.
Dozens of bands hit the stage over the weekend and there were arts and crafts and food vendors. Families could visit the kids’ corner, with games, inflatable bounce houses, and Jackson County Animal Shelter even brought out cats and dogs that are looking for homes.
All funds raised from the event are going to be donated to the Jackson County Animal Shelter as well as to Sophia Myers and her family as she continues to battle cancer. Desporte Seafood Owner Sean Desporte said, “Ocean Springs has never had a seafood festival. Since I own Desporte Seafood, we are the main sponsor with many, many other sponsors here. We have great fresh seafood. We have a lot of vendors. We have a lot of bands. We have, I think, 15 to 17 teams doing the best seafood dish competition.”
Festival officials tell News 25 that they hope this can become an annual event.
