Ocean Springs preparing for 4th annual Discover Christmas Parade
Looking ahead to another holiday event, this Sunday, Ocean Springs will host its fourth annual Discover Christmas Parade.
It is organized by multiple carnival associations and brings the feel of Mardi Gras and Christmas together.
Participants and parade attendees are encouraged to bring a new unwrapped gift with a value of $5 or more for the toy drive.
The parade is interactive and will be bringing back its memorable pillow-fighting elves.
You’ll also spot some other Christmas favorites from the North Pole including Santa and the Grinch. Discover Parade organizer Heather Eason said, “I think the really cool thing about this parade is the community. I think it’s an interactive parade that we have pillow fighting elves. We have characters that interact. With it also being a toy drive, when people show up at this parade, not just to get things, but also to give things. I think that makes it a whole lot different.”
People who want to donate toys before the parade can do so at AC Man, Macedonia Baptist Church, OS Lumber and Supply, and the Ocean Springs Elks Lodge.
The parade rolls at 2 on Sunday afternoon beginning at Front Beach and ending at OS Lumber.
