Ocean Springs prepares to move forward safely

With Governor Tate Reeves’ ‘safer at home’ order set to end June 1st, cities like Ocean Springs are preparing with safety in mind.

In his new ‘safe return’ order, Governor Reeves laid out the latest stage of his measured and strategic plan, opening all businesses in Mississippi to restart our state’s economy while continuing to flatten the curve.

Ocean Springs Mayor Shea Dobson says all the policies the governor set forth apply to the city.

But with a full reopening, Mayor Dobson says it is so important residents continue to take precautions when moving around the community. “Every time he issues new orders, our legal team and myself we comb through it and find out exactly what it means for us in Ocean Springs and all the businesses, and the programs we like to do. Then we get all that information out and make sure we keep a really strong line of communication.”

The executive order details updated social distancing guidelines for Mississippians, businesses, healthcare professionals, and indoor and outdoor recreation.
