Ocean Springs Police Search for Driver in Fatal Hit and Run

The Ocean Springs Police Department is looking for the person responsible for a fatal hit and run that happened Saturday night.
Detective Captain William Jackson says the body of 44-year-old Frank Jason Murphy was found around the 7500 block of Bienville Boulevard. He says Murphy and a friend were walking along Bienville when he was struck by the vehicle that fled the scene. Police expect the car involved to have front end, hood and windshield damage.
Captain Jackson says, “Right now, following up on leads. We’re trying to check up with all the body shops and windshield repair shops to find out if anybody has come in to try to get an estimate on some repairs on their vehicles. As soon as we complete that, we’ll also look into social media sites such as Facebook. A lot of times, people post things on Facebook and go from there.”
Anyone with information regarding this crime is asked to call the Ocean Springs Police Department at 228-875-2211 or submit a tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
