Ocean Springs Mayor Shea Dobson diagnosed with COVID-19

OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WXXV) — Ocean Springs Mayor Shea Dobson tells WXXV he has tested positive for COVID-19.

The mayor has been self-quarantining since last week. He believes he contracted the virus from a friend that is staying in his house.

Dobson and his friend initially tested for the coronavirus together. Dobson tested negative, but his friend tested positive.

Dobson then went for a second COVID-19 test, which returned positive results on Tuesday.

The mayor says he is only experiencing mild symptoms, including an occasional cough and low-grade fever. He plans to continue working from home.
