Ocean Springs Mardi Gras parade rolls through

If you were at the Ocean Springs Carnival Association Mardi Gras Parade tonight, you may have caught some beads, but did you catch all the action?
The streets of downtown Ocean Springs came alive with crowds as the parade began at 7 p.m. Giant floats with lights and Mardi Gras decorations rolled from Front Beach through downtown.
Parade goers caught beads, king cakes, and trinkets from float riders dressed up as kings, queens, mermaids, animals, and pirates. It was another fun-filled Mardi Gras in the books for Ocean Springs. Biloxi resident Juli Bocek said, “Ocean Springs has a very family oriented parade and even in the night time, it’s still nice for families to come out and people are just having fun and it’s a great way to kick off the weekend.” “I came from the Islands in Portugal and I’m having a blast. It’s absolutely wonderful.”
The rain, which was a big worry for parade goers, held off. The city event coordinator says this year’s parade was the most organized yet.
