Ocean Springs Man Arrested for the Murder of Grandparents

A gruesome discovery in Rankin County today where two elderly people were found lying in their own blood.
The killer is an Ocean Springs man according to authorities. Twenty-two year old Zachary Alexander Stanford of Ocean Springs has been charged with two counts of murder in the brutal death of his grandparents who lived in central Mississippi.
A family friend founds 79 year old Robert Faries and his 77 year old wife, Peggy, dead in their home Tuesday night.
Investigators say their 22 year old grandson Zachary specifically made the drive from the Coast to carry out the killings, where he brutally stabbed and assaulted the elderly couple.
Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey said, “The citizens of Rankin County can rest easy today knowing that we have this dangerous person off the streets. We believe that he acted alone.”
Stanford was arrested at a traffic stop when authorities noticed blood on his clothes and vehicle.
No word on a motive yet. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing.
