Ocean Springs Honors Local WWII Army Sergeant Veteran

The City of Ocean Springs is hosting a ceremony to honor a local hero Friday night.

Adelchi Anthony Pilutti is a retired Army command sergeant who was born in Italy, immigrated to America, and joined the Army in 1941. Longtime Ocean Springs resident, Pilutti, was detained in California after Pearl Harbor. Upon his release, he joined the 82nd Airborne Paratroopers and jumped on D-Day in Normandy. He received a Bronze Star for his service.
