Ocean Springs homecoming queen receives key to the city
Homecoming queen turned overtime hero turned overnight viral sensation, Kaylee Foster has been a lot of things over the past week and a half. Tonight, the Ocean Springs darling received some unique recognition from the office of the mayor.
Whereas Mayor Shea Dobson herby proclaims Tuesday, September 18th, 2018 as Kaylee Foster Day for all of her aforementioned accomplishments.
On September 7th, Kaylee kicked the game-winning extra point for her Greyhounds against George County just hours after being crowned queen.
As a result, now the senior kicker has her very own key to the city which she not only views as a tremendous honor, but also a future house-warming gift to herself. “I love Ocean Springs really and truly, like everything about this place, it’s so homey and it has been my home for years and just to know that they love me as much as I love them is super cool. I never thought I’d be able to get a key to the city just for being me. I may just have it unlock my front door when I get my own house, I think it’s that cool. I’m going to have it unlock the football field house. (Just troll Coach Ross?) Yes.”
With that, we reveal our very first News 25 Student-Athlete of the Week as none other than Miss Kaylee Foster. The credentials speak for themselves and we couldn’t think of a more fitting representative for this new series.
Congratulations Kaylee and what a two-week stretch it’s been for the homecoming queen.
