Ocean Springs City Council Addresses Pressing Issues
The last council meeting of the year was a busy one for Ocean Springs. The council addressed pressing issues.
Firstly, the much-needed improvements to Government Street, one of the most important roads in Ocean Springs were discussed.
Secondly, the pending settlement with Psycamore Psychiatric Clinic, which will cost the city nearly half a million dollars, was also discussed. The city paid the $150,000 that was due Tuesday and are now exploring their options for paying the remaining balance owed to Psycamore.
Connie Moran, Mayor of Ocean Springs, says, “We’ve already paid the $150,000 payment yesterday. It was due today. We have six weeks to pay the remaining balance, about $287,500 and we will either take it out of our reserve fund or borrow it, or a combination of both.”
