Ocean Springs businesses holding a jacket drive

With the temperatures across South Mississippi getting cooler, the need to bundle up and stay warm is becoming more vital, especially in poverty-stricken communities.

Ocean Springs resident Kerry Jo and clothing boutique Charisma in Ocean Springs have teamed up to put on a jacket drive this winter season.

All donated jackets will be distributed to impoverished kids.

Charisma is currently accepting donations of any kind of jackets. Friday night, Glory Bound in Ocean Springs will also be collecting donations.

When you donate to the jacket drive, you’ll get a wristband and will have access to $2 domestic beers and $3 well drinks. Charisma Owner Brandin Brosh said, “The special at Glory Bound starts at 7pm on Friday night. So, go out, get all of your shopping done in Ocean Springs. Support the small businesses and then after that you can go and relax at Glory Bound and grab yourself a drink and donate to our jacket drive.”

If you don’t have any jackets you can come make a $5 donation to the cause for jackets to be purchased from local thrift stores and still have access to the drink specials.
