More numbers released on Jackson County School District bond proposal
Today, the Jackson County School District released more numbers to the public regarding potential tax increases under a possible bond issue.
Superintendent John Strycker’s office sent out a chart showing how much taxes would increase for homeowners under three millage proposals the school board is considering, based on various home values.
For example, if your home has a true value of $127,000 you could see an annual tax increase of $76 under the $50 million bond, $89 under the $60 million proposal, and $102 under the $70 million proposal.
Dr. Strycker hopes the chart gives homeowners a clearer picture of where things stand under these bond proposals. “I hope our community has seen that we understand this needs to be community driven, because why would someone vote for something if they didn’t have some input.”
