North Bay Area Mardi Gras Association cancels 2021 Mardi Gras parade
Just a week after Mayor Latoya Cantrell announced there will be no Mardi Gras parades in New Orleans, the first Mississippi Gulf Coast Mardi Gras Association has canceled its parade as well.
The North Bay Area Mardi Gras Association released a statement today declaring the cancellation of its 2021 Mardi Gras parade.
The statement said that the association along with the City of D’Iberville and their Jackson County Board of Supervisors felt it was the best decision for the health and safety of their citizens.
While no other city on the Coast has canceled Mardi Gras celebrations so far, Ocean Springs Mayor Shea Dobson took to Facebook last week to confirm 2021 Mardi Gras festivities will go on in Ocean Springs.
