No boating zone for Blues over Biloxi

Blues over Biloxi is almost here and if you plan on taking in the show from your boat this weekend, the Department of Marine Resources has a few rules you’ll need to follow.

There will be a no boat zone. A perimeter will be set up in this area Thursday and no boaters will be permitted. This no boating zone is being enforced for the safety of both the public and the Blue Angels.

The pilots will be keying in on a boat at the center of this area during the show and boats moving in the area could distract them and derail the entire show. Marine Patrol Chief Keith Davis said, “Remember that you cannot anchor inside the channel. The channels are going to remain open. Do not anchor inside any of the channels, but anything in that area south of the Biloxi-Ocean Springs Bridge, there’s an area south of the island, there’s an area on the west side of the island also. There will be perimeter boats out there and we just ask everyone to be mindful of the dividing line on where you can be and where you can’t be.”
