Night to Shine

An unforgettable prom night experience happened for some special needs people in our community this evening.

Most were glued to the dance floor, while some were finding the right pose at the photo booth, but all throughout the Night to Shine Prom, smiles were bigger and brighter than ever. Night to Shine Coordinator Adrian Holland said, “The Tim Tebow Foundation sponsors this event and it’s a night worldwide to show God’s love for all people.”

This worldwide night to remember has 655 churches participating, 100,000 honored guests, and another 200,000 volunteers dancing the night away, but these honored guests in our community were treated like royalty, from having their shoes shined and hair and makeup done to getting to walk down a red carpet with everyone cheering them on along the way. “Tonight is extremely special because it provides a prom for our special needs community that they wouldn’t have otherwise in an environment that they can feel safe in and you know, have things meet their needs.”

All of the prom-goers had a different reason for this night being their favorite night of the year. Attendee Olivia said, “I like Night to Shine because I like to dance.”

Attendee Jordan said, “I have fun at Night to Shine. It’s really cool.”

Attendee Johnathan Henson said, “It’s real fun here and I like it.”

For these special guest it truly was a Night to Shine and never forget.
